Why it looks worth seeing: The story behind Rosewater's inception is an interesting one. Maziar Bahari (the man the film is based on) was imprisoned in Iran for 118 days in 2009 on charges that he was trying to overthrow the Iranian government. One of the key pieces of evidence used against him was an appearance Bahari had on Jon Stewart's program, The Daily Show. After his release, Bahari and Stewart became friends. Their history together helped inspire Stewart to take on the project of adapting Bahari's 2011 memoir about his imprisonment into a film.

It will be interesting to see what Jon Stewart does with his new role as director and screenwriter.
